Job Details

London Borough of Camden requires an experienced Senior Data Centre Engineer with specific O365 Exchange Administration and MS Exchange 2016 on-premise expertise. In this role you will lead on the provision of day-to-day Data Centre operational services, along with proactively analysing, designing, planning, and implementing infrastructure solutions across the Technology team.

The engineer will be accountable for reviewing all settings and making any recommendations for changes, along with supporting evidence. You will have the responsibility to ensure HLDs and LLDs are kept up to date.

You will carry out a full range of defined tasks associated with operating and controlling the installed (or virtual) hardware and software. Alongside this, you will review all current Exchange and Security and Compliance settings, make recommendations to either keep or change the setting, review audit logs, how they are set up, what they show and how they can be used to assure and improve the service. You will also lead on security-related incidents, liaise with the technical lead and the 2nd line service desk when necessary.

This role is also subject to a DBS Enhanced Check.

The successful candidate will have a BSc in relevant discipline, or equivalent industry experience. You will demonstrate strong knowledge of ITIL practices with emphasis on Operating Systems/Firmware covering the following platforms: Windows, Cisco, UNIX and Linux.

You will also have advanced knowledge of the Office 365 Exchange Online Administration Centre as well as the Security and Compliance portal. Understanding the consequences when applying/removing Office 365 settings and unified communications with MS Lync 2013 Exchange integration knowledge is also required.

A good understanding of eDiscovery and EOP. Experience with Mimecast, Azure AD connect, DNS, LDAP, SMTP relays, DKIM, DMARC and security token service knowledge is also required along with experience of dealing with incident, problem and change management processes

The right individual will also have the ability to manage customer expectations and be able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders clearly and concisely. You will have an understanding of network management, converged technologies, virtualisation, architecture design and specification with a commitment to continually improving the Council’s technical architecture.
