The Borough with its attractive countryside, villages and pubs is a popular destination for tourists. The National Golf Centre at The Belfry is within the borough and there are six other golf courses and ranges, three large country parks and four Council leisure and sports centres including Atherstone Leisure Complex and its pool.

Coleshill, Atherstone and Polesworth can serve most shopping needs, Atherstone has a twice weekly market, whilst Atherstone and Coleshill have monthly Farmers' Markets.

Major shopping centres are close at hand in Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Coventry and Leicester, together with theatres and other attractions.

North Warwickshire is a rural Borough and the most northern in Warwickshire. It is close to the districts of Nuneaton and Bedworth, Rugby, Stratford and Warwick; the shire counties of Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire and the urban areas of Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester and Solihull.

There are excellent transport connections. The A5 cuts through the Borough as does the M42, the M6 and the M6 Toll whilst Coventry, the East Midlands and Birmingham International Airports are close by. Although predominantly rural, North Warwickshire is also home to several manufacturing and distribution centres, including those at Atherstone and Coleshill; Hams Hall incorporating the BMW engine plant and Birch Coppice Business Park, the base for TNT. The Borough's mining heritage lives on in Daw Mill Colliery at Arley, the one remaining 'super pit' in the Borough and the last working mine in the Midlands.
