Project Director (Manydown)
Manydown is one of the most ambitious development schemes in the UK.
Scheduled to be delivered in a phased approach over the next 15 to 20 years, it will deliver in the region of 8,000 to 10,000 new homes and become an integral part of Basingstoke’s identity and community.
As the project moves from the planning phase into delivery this post will play a lead role in turning ambition into action.
As Project Director you will make a number of key contributions. You’ll be vital to successful partnership working, fostering close working relationships with Hampshire County Council as joint landowner, alongside Basingstoke and Deane and the appointed joint venture partner, as well as community stakeholders.
You’ll be an advocate for the council and our residents to ensure a sharp focus on sustainable community outcomes.
And you’ll be close to the detail – assuring that the project meets agreed milestones and that quality and value for money are embedded in how it is delivered.
An understanding of joint venture models, supported by a keen commercial awareness will be essential. You’ll need to bring a strong understanding and experience of development, public/private partnership, capital programme and regeneration delivery of significant scale, and a full appreciation of the levels of stakeholder interest in such a project.
It’s important that you can bring the resilience, tenacity and political awareness that will all be key in ensuring momentum, alongside effective stakeholder engagement.
