Full time 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Compass Point Business Services (East Coast) Ltd (CPBS) is a joint venture company established by East Lindsey District Council and South Holland District Council.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who is highly motivated and enjoys the challenge of leadership at a time of change. This new post is a key position in our Benefits service, providing a bridge between strategic and operational service delivery. 

Our service focus is one of continuous improvement, and the Operational Benefits Manager will assist the Head of Service, Revenues and Benefits in providing effective management, as well as leading on the successful delivery of specific service projects and improvement activity that will ensure our service is fit for purpose now, and in the future. 

With direct line management responsibility for the service Team Leaders, you will provide clear direction and guidance to enable delivery of a high standard day to day service in a positive environment for team members to perform, and in turn maximise subsidy for our client Councils.   You will be responsible for ensuring that the service operates efficiently and effectively, and is compliant with policy and regulations.

Strong leadership and organisational skills are essential, as is experience and enthusiasm for change management.

This position requires a detailed knowledge and understanding of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support scheme law.  The successful candidate will also have extensive knowledge of national welfare changes, and be able to contribute to future service planning and delivery.  

Extensive experience working at a senior level in a local authority (or similar) Benefits service environment is essential.  Whilst being primarily Benefits service focused, the post holder will also contribute to the cohesive and effective working across all Revenues and Benefits functions and should therefore have sound understanding, and ideally experience, of local authority Revenues service delivery.

An IRRV qualification would be a distinct advantage.
