Housing Enforcement Officer
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to work within our small but busy Private Sector Housing team to deliver all aspects of the service including: housing inspections, taking appropriate enforcement action, licensing housing, dealing with grant/loan applications and approvals, and generally providing professional housing advice, including home energy advice, to members of the public.
If you hold a Building Studies qualification, have a relevant housing related professional qualification and possess significant knowledge gained through extensive experience in housing inspection and enforcement, including experience in the use and application of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System, then this position offers you a great opportunity to contribute delivering safe homes to support and protect vulnerable people within our borough. Equally applications from graduate or newly qualified EHO with the right level of effort, enthusiasm and commitment will be considered.
If you can demonstrate up to date knowledge of housing and other legislation relevant to the post: the Acts relating to housing conditions, enforcement, grants and the licensing of houses in multiple occupation, then this post may be for you.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be IT literate, and able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team and be committed to undertaking continuing training and development.
A flexible approach to working hours is required to fulfil this 37 hour contract, to be worked between Monday and Friday each week
