Strategic Director of Place
North West Leicestershire has an excellent reputation as a well-run and financially secure authority, with a positive culture and strong partnerships. With a new Chief Executive recently appointed, we are keen to build upon our strengths and yet also refresh the way we operate, with a renewed emphasis on developing jobs and growth in the area as well as a sharper customer focus. We are currently looking to appoint a new Strategic Director of Place, and this is an opportunity to be at the start of an exciting new journey in North West Leicestershire, working with a committed team to drive change for the benefit of our communities.
The Strategic Director of Place will lead a crucial array of front line services, including waste, street protection, planning, leisure and regeneration. There are many exciting projects happening in the district, such as a proposal for a £18m new build leisure facility and a significant regeneration agenda in Coalville. Hence, we need candidates who can understand the synergies between these service areas and develop a holistic ‘place’ agenda. You will need a strong corporate approach, and ideally a first-hand understanding of regeneration and economic development as well as the ability to deliver significant projects.
