Head of Consumer Services
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to fundamentally shape the future of a number of key frontline services in the City of Wolverhampton as part of the City Environment area of the Place Directorate.
The Head of Consumer Services has a wide ranging role, with responsibility for Food Safety, Trading Standards, Rogue Traders, Environmental Protection, Consumer Protection and Air Quality, to name just a few. The Consumer Services team have also now taken on responsibility of delivering the new Waste Strategy, including the roll-out of a new waste and recycling service later this year, as well as aligning a number of policies relating to environmental enforcement and education. They have also taken on a role of working across the Combined Authority area to look at ways of dealing with unauthorised encampments. The team have already set high standards for the way they help and support business in the City and we are looking to develop this even further as this is a key part of the City’s regeneration.
These changes are fast paced and challenging. To succeed in this role, you will have an excellent working knowledge of the wider public services agenda and be able to successfully deliver improved outcomes and drive successful organisational change.
