We want to recruit a Business Administration Apprentice to work in the Human Resources Department at East Northamptonshire Council.
This role is a great opportunity for a hard working and keen individual who wants to learn on the job, while getting a qualification. We promise to show you the ropes and give you lots of practical opportunities to learn and gain experience in a Human Resources environment. In return you will help us to deliver vital services that support our staff.
We have approximately 200 employees and the people and environment are friendly and welcoming and every day is different.
What will I be doing?
You will be providing general administrative support to the friendly Human Resources team and other service areas. Duties will include:
• Inputting data into computer systems
• Dealing with both computer and paper-based documents
• Answering the telephone and taking messages
• Photocopying, scanning and filing
• Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail
• Supporting colleagues with various tasks such as collating and inputting data, responding to enquiries via email and telephone, and helping to arrange events

What qualifications do I need to have already?
GCSE English and Maths at A - C or equivalent is preferred, however this is not essential.
What qualities and skills do I need?
To be successful in this role you must be reliable, have a polite manner and a friendly approach to help you get on with people at all levels. You must be keen to learn and work to agreed targets. You will need to be a good team worker but also have the ability to work on your own initiative when required. A good knowledge of Microsoft Office will be an advantage.
What will I get from this role?
Apprenticeships combine the opportunity of paid work with a formal training programme. You will be working 37 hours a week with a salary of at least £147.00 per week (Linked to National Living Wage). Through the training you will be able to achieve an NVQ level 2/3 in Business Administration.

This means that you may work between the hours of 07.30 and 18.30 with your line manager's agreement; our core hours of work are between 10.00-12.00 and 14.00-16.00. In return we ask all of our employees to be flexible to ensure the council meets customer needs and expectations.
