Are you looking to develop or build upon your housing or planning experience?

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and conscientious individual to support our housing and planning policy teams.

Working across our small but busy and proactive housing and planning teams, the successful candidate will be educated to degree standard or equivalent and will ideally have experience of working within a planning or housing environment. You will carry out a wide range of work, including research, information gathering and monitoring, to inform policy development and meet our statutory requirements.

The role will involve contact with councillors, other professionals and the public so you will need experience of dealing with people and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will also need good numeracy and IT skills. You will be flexible and willing to work both co-operatively within the team and also on your own initiative.

If you feel you have the necessary skills and can demonstrate an understanding of housing and/or planning services, we can offer the opportunity to assist in a wide variety of work.

East Northamptonshire is an attractive, diverse mix of market towns and rural villages, located within the very heart of England, but subject to considerable growth pressures centred on its 6 market towns.

If this excellent opportunity sounds like the role for you, we’d love to hear from you. For an informal discussion about this role, please contact either Richard Palmer, Planning Policy and Conservation Manager on 01832 742142 or Carol Conway, Housing Strategy and Delivery Manager on 01832 742078.

Closing Date:  Midday on Friday 25 August 2017

Interviews will be held week commencing 11 September 2017
