Neighbourhood Intervention Officer
Temporary for 12 months or until the return of the substantive post holder.
Your normal place of work will be an area/locality to be determined however you may be required to work at any council/multi agency workplace within County Durham.
You will support the Neighbourhood Intervention Manager (Neighbourhood Protection) in delivering a community safety service that impacts upon ASB, crime and the fear of crime, and delivers improved outcomes for the people of County Durham.
The role includes –working in partnership with all relevant agencies and assisting in the co-ordination of the delivery of all Multi Agency Problem Solving Groups (MAPS) in the county. To ensure the provision of timely, relevant and effective advice, guidance, support and information on all aspects of community safety to the Council and its partners as appropriate.
You will co-ordinate partnership activity arising from the MAPS including time limited action plans. Coordinate and support partners in their role and ensure that responsibilities regarding child and adult sexual exploitation and early help are met.
Assist with the management of designated budgets including external grant funding to support the delivery of community safety activity.
Significant experience of community safety work including evidence of: Project management, co-ordinating and delivering training and problem solving is essential.
Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
