Following a period of significant service redesign, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced officer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the ground breaking Safer Neighbourhood Service. 

You will be committed to ensuring Barnsley has a cohesive and diverse community where residents from all backgrounds feel included and have a voice. As part of, the Safer Communities Team we are looking for an experienced individual to lead and deliver the councils strategies for cohesion and prevention of violent extremism. 

You will have significant working knowledge of both the Cohesion and PREVENT agendas, a through understanding of the national and legislative context and an awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing the people of Barnsley. 

This is a critical role to ensure Barnsley has safe and cohesive communities and is equipped to deal with modern day challenges. You must be able to demonstrate a successful track record of working in a partnership environment and an ability to deal with sensitive and political issues to achieve successful outcomes. 

You will be a strong team player who is able to respond to new challenges and ways of working. You must be willing to undertake and pass Level 2 enhanced vetting process in line with local and national requirements.
