We have a key vacancy within our Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service for a Programme & Improvement Manager in our Children’s Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Service. Children’s services in Barnsley are seeking a professional, tenacious, motivated well organised, driven individual to support us to the next level in our Children’s service Improvement journey. You will have strong organisation skills, the ability to work under pressure, be self-motivated and able to work at senior levels across partnerships, with the ability to respectfully challenge. You will need to gain an extensive knowledge of all aspects of programme and project management including project planning, risk management, governance, and value for money and benefits realisation. 

The post holder is the key lead Officer responsible for coordinating, driving and maintaining our Children’s Continuous Service Improvement Framework and Plan, supporting the progress that we are making as a children’s partnership, in delivering good and outstanding services to vulnerable children living in the borough. 

You will manage a small team who provide a quality assurance service for Children’s Social Care Service, cascading best practice and learning, supporting improvement and consistently high standards of practice. You will need to understand the inspection framework for Children’s Social Care services and act as the named designated officer for inspection preparation and co-ordination.
