Chelmsford City Council are excited to offer a new and improved Apprenticeship opportunity in Customer Service / Business Administration.

We are on the look out for a group of passionate, motivated apprentices who will help us deliver a high quality service to the Council and those who work for us. In return, apprentices will have every opportunity to develop their skills and expertise through tailored training and development programmes.

This apprenticeship scheme has been designed to give our apprentices the best start in their careers, working in an ever-changing, fast paced organisation. Working in Customer Service/Business Administration will give our apprentices the opportunity to develop invaluable skills and experience alongside the opportunity to study for an approved Customer Service/Business Administration Standard. Time will be given throughout the working week for study.

We are looking for organised and flexible individuals who are able to work quickly but accurately. Our apprentices will be working with a wide range of individuals so good communication skills are a must. They should also ideally have A-C grades in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), be computer literate and able to use a wide range of computer packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Our apprentices may be stationed at any of the Council’s locations across Chelmsford, therefore candidates must be able to organise their own travel arrangements to and from their primary work location.

Our apprentices will be required to work 37 hours per week on a 1 Year Fixed Term Contract.

Please be aware that in line with the apprenticeship levy government funding is not available for people with a Level 4 or Graduate qualification in Customer Service / Business Administration. Government funding for apprenticeships substantially different to existing Level 4 or Graduate qualifications will be considered.
