Your role in our journey
As a Public Health Nurse you will provide evidence based public health nursing practice under the supervision of a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, promoting and improving health and inequalities at individual, family and community level. Whilst delivering public health initiatives you will provide professional advice, guidance, support and mentoring to team members and students. You will contribute to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme to improve health and wellbeing and safeguard children, young people and families.
What you’ll need
To join us, you will need to be a registered Nurse with recent clinical experience and ideally you will have some experience of working with children and young people. Your knowledge and understanding of Public Health and preventative strategy and priorities for children, young people and families will help you to contribute towards delivering the Healthy Child Programme, identifying and assessing the health needs of individuals and families.
A lot to look forward to
Here at Barnsley, we live and work by four important values: honesty, teamwork, excellent service, and taking pride in what we do. Our Public Health Nursing Service is at the forefront of providing care to our children, young people and families and we are currently on a journey of re-designing the service which we hope will become a truly integrated service that works in partnership with other children’s services and becomes a beacon of good practice at both regional and national level.
Successful candidates will be offered the opportunity to access either the Local Government Pension or NHS Pension Scheme.
