Birmingham Children’s Trust will transform how children’s services are provided in the city and help ensure the safety and wellbeing of our 250,000 children and young people.  As our first Director of Resources, you will ensure that everything we do to deliver our work for children is underpinned by first class corporate and support services.

Reporting to the Trust’s Chief Executive and working closely with the Chair, Board and leadership colleagues, you will lead us to a position of autonomy and high performance.  This is a significant and high profile role as part of the leadership team of the UK’s largest Children’s Trust, with 1800 people and a budget of £180 million per annum.

Succeed in this role and you will have shaped and led the Trust’s finance, human resources, ICT, legal and business support services to deliver outstanding results, ensuring we meet our strategic objectives.  Your commitment and expertise will help us create an innovative, continuously improving organisation with an unwavering focus on the success and welfare of children and young people in Birmingham.   You will have played a vital leadership role in building an organisation where employees can flourish and where our partnerships contribute to our success.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with a relevant professional background and qualification and experience of leading and transforming large and complex public or voluntary sector organisations and major service groupings.   Bringing strong commercial and business acumen, you will have experience of managing significant budgets, maximising value for money and innovating to deliver improved strategic and service outcomes.
