Plymouth is a spectacular waterfront city which is seeing many exciting changes as it delivers its ambitious growth agenda, with a population expected to rise by almost 50,000 by 2031, supported by over 20,000 new homes.

The Strategic Transport Team is part of the Strategic Planning and Infrastructure Department where delivery of new transport infrastructure is pivotal to the successful delivery of the city’s ambitious growth agenda.  Also pivotal to the delivery of growth is the track record of successful funding bids for new transport schemes, including the award in October of £8.3m towards the delivery of transport schemes in the north of the city.

Plymouth City Council is looking for an enthusiastic individual looking to make a career in transport planning and delivery of transport projects.  The post holder will be expected to have reasonable experience and knowledge of sustainable transport, travel planning, cycling and walking initiatives.  The post holder will assist the Strategic Transport Team in the day to day management, co-ordination and delivery of transport projects.  The post holder will take a lead role in roadshows and community events as well as initiating, undertaking or commissioning of technical surveys, studies and where collating, analysing and evaluating data.
