Safety Officer - Property Maintenance Services
Rugby Borough Council is expanding its corporate Health and Safety functions and seeking to recruit a new Safety Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly formed team which will be driving behavioural and culture change to ensure excellence in health, safety and welfare of employees and provide assurance on health and safety standards.
Your main focus will be to support the audits of health and safety management across Council services and liaise with services to ensure that improvements are made within an appropriate time frame.
Work across the organisation as part of a team you will help develop best practice, such as monitoring of behaviours and cultures, while ensuring that we can still get the job done (risk aware not risk averse). Whilst not essential, we are particularly seeking applicants with relevant knowledge or experience of property maintenance, grounds maintenance and waste services.
If you have experience and passion for health and safety and have an ability to influence, champion and challenge behaviours to promote excellence in health, safety and welfare at work then this is the next job for you.
