Contract: Fixed term (12 Months or 24 Months) 
Hours of work: 36 hours per week 
Location: Civic Centre and other locations from time to time, all posts will be based within the Borough of Brent

A number of exciting apprenticeship positions are currently available throughout the Council.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Up to £14,000 level 2

  • Up to £15,000 level 3

  • 26 days annual leave entitlement

  • NVQ 2 or 3

Apprenticeship programmes involve real on-the-job-training where you will learn as well as study and gain skills. You will also gain nationally recognised qualifications by successfully completing your Apprenticeship Framework. 

 

The Post

 

Brent Council is offering a number of opportunities at NVQ Level 2 & 3 across the Council's Departments.

You will gain a qualification whilst working as part of a team that provides a service to Brent residents and customers. 

We will assist you in accessing the NVQ course suitable for you, provide off-the-job training, and support you through the programme. 

By the end of your training period you will have achieved vocational qualifications, developed a range of work-related skills, and had the opportunity to earn a competitive working wage while developing the right attitude, skills and confidence. You must be committed to completing the programme in full to be accepted into an Apprenticeship Programme. 
 

The Person

 

Are you looking to make a first step into a career in Local Government? 

Are you committed to learning new skills and gaining new experience? 

We welcome your application if you are not in full time education, hold at least 3 GCSEs grades A-E. If a candidate does not have GCSEs in English and Maths, they may still apply subject to the outcome of a basic numeracy and literacy test. 

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Well organised and enthusiastic

  • Drive, commitment, motivated to achieve results and take pride in their work and a ‘can do’ attitude

  • Keen interest and willingness to learn

  • Genuine interest in working for the Council and developing a career

  • Understand the importance of being punctual and have a positive approach to work
