The fastest growing city economy in Yorkshire. A major town centre regeneration in the pipeline, along with 1,000 new homes. An overall ‘good’ Ofsted rating for children’s services. Clearly, Rotherham is changing. Driving this change is a council that’s passionate about putting Rotherham on the map for all the right reasons. Now you’ll take us even further by bringing the same commitment, tenacity and ambition to this critical role.
An influential role
You’ll head up a brand new Change & Innovation team. Created to work alongside our Performance, Intelligence & Improvement Service, it will spearhead a wide-ranging change management programme and help Directorates make sustainable improvements to their services.
You’ll lead the development of the change programme, making sure everyone understands its goals and how to achieve them. It’ll be your job to spot change opportunities, identify accountabilities, and define reporting and management processes. We’ll look to you to make sure leaders, managers and colleagues embed diversity, as well as our values and behaviours into every change initiative. We’ll expect you to establish effective ways to set targets, manage performance, oversee procurement and control spending.
It’s about making savings while driving innovation and boosting the quality of our services. Above all, it’s about putting our customers at the heart of our thinking and making sure every change has a clear benefit for them.
An inspiring individual
You’ll be helping us build outstanding services for the people, businesses and communities of Rotherham. So you’ll need to have already managed large, complex transformation programmes across a broad range of services for a sizeable organisation. You’ll have proved you can reduce costs and work effectively with stakeholders. What’s more, as you’ll be working closely with different Directorates and delivering a one-council approach, you’ll have shown you can build relationships and forge strong partnerships.
An experienced project manager with a range of project management credentials – you’ll also be a skilled negotiator and someone who thinks creatively as well as analytically. A talent for communicating, both in person and on paper, is vital too so you can explain proposals clearly and build consensus.
This is an exciting time to join Rotherham. You can look forward to all the satisfaction of building on the changes we’ve already made, reinforcing our momentum and driving further progress. It’s a receptive, enthusiastic, collaborative environment in which to make your mark. The more tangible rewards are highly attractive too and include a relocation allowance of up to £8,000 on top of your salary.
