Are you looking for a new challenge? Could you add value to the day-to-day operational running of our recently formed Performance Reporting team?

A sub-tropical island of spectacular and beautiful landscapes in the South Atlantic with a warm and friendly population of 4,500, St Helena is a self-governing overseas territory of the UK, poised for transformation through commercial air access which commenced in October 2017.

The Management Accountant’s main duties will include the preparation of the annual budgets and budget forecasts for the local directorates, produce directorate performance reports and maintain, update and discuss control processes and procedures for performance reporting in the SHG Arena. You will present regular performance reports to local directorates. You will also support the production of the Government’s Management Accounts, the annual strategic planning and budgeting programme through financial analysis and appraisal of policy options, spending proposals and spending plans. This will require building strong working relationships with key stakeholders and mentoring of junior members of the performance reporting team.

You must be a CIMA / ACCA or CCAB qualified accountant or equivalent with current membership and up to date CPD record. Experience obtained to date should include preparation of budgets using accruals based budgeting, the challenging and scrutiny of Directorate spend in line with policies, cash flow forecasting and the production of Management Accounts.  A hands-on approach with good attention to detail and communications skills are essential.

Secondments from public sector organisations and Accountancy firms are welcomed.

We offer an extensive benefits package with 30 days leave pa, pension contribution, fare paid travel, freight and relocation allowances.  An application form can be found at where further information can also be found, or you may contact Kedell Worboys on 0203 818 7610 or email: This is where applications must be sent and received by 18th April 2018. Interviews will be held in London.
