We are looking to appoint a dynamic Supervising Social Worker in our Fostering Team. You will have responsibility for the supervision preparation, training, support and review of foster carers offering placements to Looked After Children.
You will also be required to participate in the Fostering Team’s duty rota over a number of days each month. In addition to this you will have the opportunity to participate in various other team activities such as delivering support groups or training to carers.

The Fostering Team works closely with the Looked After Children and Care Leaver service and the Adoption and Permanence teams.
In our January 2013 OFSTED Inspection the Fostering Service was judged to be a good service with Outstanding features for Outcomes for Children and Quality of Service. The successful candidate will have the following:
* You will have 2 years post-qualification experience as a social worker, preferably within a Fostering team environment, with good investigative and analysis skills.
*You will have extensive experience in the supervision preparation, training, support and review of foster carers offering placements to Looked After Children.
*It is desirable that you have experience of completing assessments, preferably Form F assessments.
*You will possess a sound knowledge of the legislative framework relating to children particularly the Children Act 1989, Fostering Service Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards and other relevant guidance and standards.
*Being good at negotiation and having the ability to deal with conflict, hostility and vulnerability is paramount.
*An expert practitioner, positive about the work and the development of the team and service will succeed in this role.
*You must hold a Diploma in social work or equivalent qualification and be HCPC registered.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
