Strategic Lead – Help & Protection
Coventry City Council has been working hard to improve the outcomes and quality of lives for its children and young people. We believe that we can really see those changes take effect, and we’re looking for a new Strategic Lead for Help and Protection to continue this journey.
Following the retirement of our current post-holder, our new Strategic Lead for Help and Protection will have responsibility for improving quality and outcomes and for ensuring performance and quality is maintained across Early Help, Children in Need, Child Protection and Youth Offending.
Coventry is a diverse city and this has been recognised with the recent award of the title of UK City of Culture for 2021. In order to shape and deliver our services in an effective way, we want to ensure that we have employees from a range of different backgrounds, identities and different experiences so that we are able to meet the needs of the diverse children and young people that we serve. If successful you will provide leadership and professional support to Children’s Services, working with partners whilst ensuring that statutory obligations and local targets are met on time and within budget.
We’re looking for a robust decision maker who is great at clarifying goals, can positively challenge colleagues and turn ideas into a reality. If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you.
Coventry City Council aims to have a workforce that represents the diverse communities we serve, embracing and utilising the broadest range of skills, experience and perspectives this brings.
