We are looking for an experienced senior manager who will be a member of the Adult Social Care (ASC) senior management team and accountable for delivering high quality in-house council run day and respite services for older people and those with learning disabilities as well as the 24/7 telecare service, Careline.
“Supporting people, connecting communities” is the Council’s ambitious strategic plan for older and disabled people living and ageing well in Camden, which is underpinned by a strengths-based approach to people who need support.
In addition to working in conjunction with partners and stakeholders to deliver high quality, value for money services, the Head of Service will continue to review and improve in-house services to support the overall transformation agenda and promote independent living within the borough.
Some of the projects the post holder will have oversight of, are managing the move of current disabilities day services into a new building alongside a Centre for Independent Living (CIL) in Kentish Town, implementing our ambitious plans for the latest digital and assistive technologies and reviewing the provision for short breaks provision for people with learning disabilities.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
You will be an experienced influential senior manager with significant experience of working with resident groups, partners and third sector groups within the context of co-production and designing and improving services.
You will have extensive knowledge and understanding of the trends, developments, political and legislative issues relevant to Adult Social Care and health and specifically in relation to Older People and Learning Disabilities.
You will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and good management skills with the ability to inspire your management team to perform in challenging circumstances and during times of organisational change.
It is essential you have the ability to take responsibility for own work, consistently achieving and delivering to time and quality, despite tight timescales and conflicting priorities.
You will build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels internally and externally, to ensure a high quality service is delivered.
You will have an awareness and understanding of the complexities of operating in a multi-disciplinary setting and will able to focus on internal and external stakeholders, be innovative and creative, open to ideas and challenge, and committed to individual learning and development.
