The purpose of the Business Support service is to support and enable services to deliver for the people of Camden in an efficient and effective way. We have recently changed the way that we work so that we are more responsive to the needs of our customers.

To help us deliver this, we require skilled Business Support Officers to join the service to provide efficient and professional support to our customers.

We are looking for individuals who are adaptable and have a willingness to respond to the changing needs and priorities of the services that we support.

Some of our current priority areas are to ensure that we provide a seamless greeting, signposting, meeting room and audio-visual support service to colleagues and business visitors to our 5 Pancras Square building and Town Hall; and to provide a variety of administrative support to our services based at 5 Pancras Square.

You’ll ensure the professional delivery of established processes to support the organisation.

You’ll also work closely with colleagues to identify areas for improvement, ensuring that support remains appropriate for all service users. As a forward thinking Council, we expect staff to embrace new technology to support service users, ensuring that the level of support offered is flexible and in line with Camden’s ways of working.

You’ll have exceptional communication skills: written and verbal, with an ability to express issues in a clear and appropriate manner and work with a range of audiences. You will be resilient and have experience of working in a fast paced, customer focused environment.

It is essential that you are educated to GCSE level or equivalent (to include Maths and English), and / or have an NVQ3 in Business Administration or similar. You should be able to demonstrate that you have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), as well as database management.

You will have the ability to work with minimum supervision, using problem solving skills and initiative to provide a customer focussed support service.

You’ll also be able to work flexibly, balancing competing priorities and meeting deadlines whilst understanding the needs, timescales and deadlines of others.

This role requires you to deal diplomatically and confidentially with a wider range of stakeholders internally and externally. You’ll also have the ability to identify improvements to processes and systems and to share the recommendations with the wider team.

Please refer to the job profile supplementary information for full details of the role.
