We now seek a Head of Lifelong Services to lead and deliver a new, co-produced, integrated and whole life service and approach to working with people with lifelong conditions and their families, which will:

• offer early intervention and build on strengths to develop skills and independence;

• promote and maintain safety and good health;

• ensure appropriate early support and intervention to reduce the need for traditional care services;

• encourage and facilitate employment, valued roles and relationships within their communities; and make best use of public money;

• discharging full range of statutory duties in relation to disabled children including child protection.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to expand their skills and abilities across Children’s Services, Adults’ Services and Education and to really influence and deliver a key transformational programme for one of the country’s most forward-thinking authorities.

This is not your ordinary Head of Service role; we seek those who would describe themselves as extra-ordinary.

You will have developed, co-designed and implemented successful transformational change programmes which have engaged and empowered children, young people, adults and their families, making sure that their voice is always heard. You will have significant experience of working at a senior leadership level with the ability to achieve improved outcomes for individuals with disabilities.

You will be able to successfully collaborate with elected members, multiple partners and stakeholders following a diverse agenda, be forward thinking, have innovative ideas, and be able to make bold decisions. You will be a transformational leader who understands the importance of vision, culture and practice to harmonise the different staff groups to be a high performing, customer focused team.
