We are looking for an outstanding individual – one who shares our passion and ambition for improving the lives of children and young people in Lewisham – to play a key leadership role in our Children and Young People directorate. The role reports to the executive director for children and young people.

We are looking for a leader with a successful track record of transforming children’s services and who has successfully implemented creative solutions which have delivered demonstrable improvements in outcomes for children and young people.

A qualified social worker, you will have extensive experience of improving performance and delivering high-quality children’s services in a challenging financial environment. As a skilled and inspirational manager, you will be focused on improving outcomes for children and on supporting and improving frontline social work practice. You will also be able to demonstrate a track record of successful partnership working, harnessing partners’ contributions to improving outcomes for children and young people.

You must be team focused, enjoy the thrill of working at pace, relish leading and managing change and have an agile approach with an excellent track record of success in transforming children’s social care. Your passion will be to deliver a better future for all children and young people and ensure the right infrastructure is in place to achieve this.

This role will be part of a wider team in Lewisham which is committed to improving the borough as a place to live, work and learn.
