Assistant Director - Transformation & Digital

With significant investment from the Council to support the delivery of this strategy and with fresh impetus and insight from our Chief Executive and Corporate Management Team, the Council are in a strong position to make rapid progress in achieving its ambitions.
Reporting to the Executive Director for Resources and Transformation and as a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Assistant Director for Transformation and Digital is a new and exciting role for the organisation, accountable for delivering the Council’s complex business transformation and digital agenda. The role will require collaborative working across all Services to define, secure support for and deliver a number of high profile work-streams to maximise performance and customer satisfaction, address known issues and weaknesses, integrate an ambitious change programme and position the Council to fully embrace agile working and User Centred Service Design principles.
As such, the role combines a mandate for both strategy development and execution. It requires a proven track record of delivering impactful, measurable business change programmes which transform the end to end customer experience through new thinking, introducing different ways of working and the exploitation of new technologies to support service design.
Demonstrating exemplary stakeholder engagement and management skills, you will evidence a successful track record of leading and delivering impactful transformation of the Customer Experience for a complex organisation of scale. You will showcase fresh thinking coupled with the ability to articulate big ideas into a practical roadmap of deliverables, building support for your ideas, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth implementation of any solutions.
You will be a passionate, creative and compelling advocate for customer experience transformation, with a tenacious, robust, can-do mentality and a restless appetite for continuous improvement, guided by a combination of sharp commercial intellect and intuition drawn from a deep understanding of user needs, behaviours and a belief in the value and importance of public service.
