We are looking for an experienced civil/structural engineer to help us manage this significant natural capital and working with other agencies maintain the future of this important dynamic environment.
Providing strategic feasibility and design advice to the authority the successful applicant will be expected to work together with a range of funding bodies, Government agencies and local business groups including the Environment Agency, Utility Companies, Natural England and Devon County Council.
As the engineer, you will be responsible for delivering and overseeing a range of projects, feasibility studies and business case submissions to secure funding opportunities. Key responsibilities will include:
•Technical Design & Management •Developing good internal and external working relationships •Proving quality reports, presentations and advice to the Authority •Health & Safety •Environmental Risk Management
•HNC/HND or higher relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Physical Geography or Environmental Science. •Membership of a relevant professional organisation •Proven experience in the planning and implementation of infrastructure •A track record in business case preparation and the ability to price and agree project scope and content •Use of CAD and the Application of GIS software packages •The successful preparation and submission of applications for grants and funding, excellent report writing and presentation skills
•A project management qualification •Established relationships with relevant statutory bodies •An understanding of flood risk management •Experience of coastal management schemes •Hold a current and valid driving licence
