The Borough of Broxbourne is in south east Hertfordshire bordering London and the M25, with a population of about 93,600. Stratford International station is 25 minutes by train and there is good access to airports and the rest of the country. Broxbourne is a Green Belt borough containing much of the Lee Valley Regional Park and is home to the White Water Centre which hosted the canoeing events at the London 2012 Olympics. Senior Financial Accountant (Ref: 1N314P)
Salary range from £35,901 to £37,691 p.a. (salary dependent on skills and experience)

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated finance professional to join our Finance Team. This newly created post provides a unique opportunity for the right candidate to carve this role and join a successful team that has been at the forefront of early closedown having met the 31 July deadline in each of the last six years. You will be responsible for maintaining this level of performance by leading on the year end closure process and the production of IFRS compliant statutory accounts supported by good quality working papers.
You will be the Council’s principle advisor on technical accounting issues, including advising on the implications of new legislation and accounting practices. Your responsibilities will include collection fund accounting and capital accounting and financing.
You will be CCAB part-qualified (preferably CIPFA) with excellent technical skills and a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and current issues in local government finance.
