This exciting role offers huge potential for a leader with real vision about how Sandwell can use assets and land to generate future income, drive local regeneration opportunities, and ensure we have high-quality buildings suitable for a 21st century workforce. We want you to apply your proven asset management skills into this broader context, working innovatively and effectively across the whole regeneration directorate.

You’ll take a lead on our Work Place Vision Programme, reviewing the commercial and corporate estate and landlord functions and developing a land and assets strategy that’s aligned to Sandwell’s long-term objectives. The service area includes teams with expertise in all areas relating to building services and land, many of which are income-generating. Ensuring our facilities management function is responsive and proactive is also a key priority.

Completing the leadership group being assembled by our recently appointed Director of Regeneration and Growth, you’ll be responsible for a highly capable team and significant corporate programmes. The career development potential is just as exciting as the professional challenge. Your successful track record in this field will be grounded in concrete examples of where you have used assets to increase income, as well as how you have used local authority land to assist with regeneration and development. Stand-out candidates will also bring a high level of empathy, pragmatism and a strong ability to communicate and influence, including experience of advising and liaising with members.
