Our brand new Performance, Insight and Improvement service acts as a specialist resource across our Community Wellbeing Department; which encompasses Housing, Adult Social Care, Culture & Leisure and Public Health. The service will be central to helping the department develop a better understanding of the challenges facing our services, to robustly monitor and improve quality, to gain more sophisticated insight into the needs and experiences of our customers, and to utilise all of this knowledge to design and deliver lasting improvements across our services.
As part of a small team of service improvement officers, you will support projects and work streams that transform our services; improving the customer experience, delivering savings and building operational resilience. You will apply a variety of proven project management and change methodologies, and ensure that change is sustainably embedded by supporting teams to identify ongoing learning and development. You will act as a centre of best practice in managing change; working with stakeholders across Community Wellbeing to co-produce service improvement initiatives, to redesign systems and processes, and to ensure that quality is at the heart of all we do.
Our Service Improvement Officers are aligned to a particular function (Adult Social Care, Housing, or Culture & Public Health), but also have the opportunity to work on projects across the whole of Community Wellbeing, so this is a unique opportunity to build your specialist skills in service improvement whilst gaining exposure to a wide range of services.
The ideal candidate will have experience of service improvement and change management in a similarly complex organisation, with the proven ability to positively engage service users and operational teams in the change process. Excellent project management skills are essential, as is broad experience of a variety of different process and service improvement methodologies.
The right candidate will be self-motivated, with a “can-do” attitude and a commitment to identifying and encouraging innovative solutions. The ability to review complex processes, and present information in a compelling way to a variety of different audiences will also be essential in this role.
