We are seeking a Planning Compliance Officer to join our busy planning enforcement team. Enforcement is a key element of the Public Protection Service and we are looking for a Planning Compliance Officer to help deliver the aims and ambitions of the Council.

This is a full time post assisting the Principal Enforcement Officer in the delivery of an effective and efficient planning enforcement service.

Key duties will include:

  • Proactive action to ensure compliance with conditions imposed on planning permissions and to monitor developments to ensure compliance with approvals.
  • Investigate allegations and enquiries of breaches of planning control
  • Manage and coordinate site visits
  • Deal with enquiries from developers, architects, members of the public, & elected Members

The Planning Compliance Officer needs to provide a high level service for the investigations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.  You will be highly motivated with good negotiation skills to investigate and resolve breaches of planning control. You will provide planning enforcement advice to Members and customers. You will also have excellent IT skills and be able to produce and understand reports and Legal Documents.
