South Holland District Council is currently looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic candidate to join its Planning Policy Team, working closely with collagues at Boston Borough Council's planning policy team as part of the Joint Policy Unit. The Council has reached an exciting and crucial stage in the preparation of a joint Local Plan as the South East Lincolnshire Local Plan is nearing the end of its Examination in Public. The successful candidates will join at an important time for the Council as it moves forward with implementation and delivering the Council's growth ambitions set out in the plan which identified new Urban Extensions to the towns of Spalding and Holbeach.

The current priority is to support the remainder of the South East Lincolnshire Local Plan Examination in Public and subsequent stages leading to the adoption of the plan later this year. The Principal Planning Policy Officer will be expected to lead on key areas of the plan, and going forward support the Planning Policy Manager and Shared Strategic Planning Manager developing the Council's growth agenda. You will have an opportunity to lead on other key policy areas, be involved in Neighbourhood Planning and be involved in other delivery initiatives.

Applicants will be qualified in planning or a related discipline which is recognised by the Royal Town Planning Institute, have a sound working knowledge of local government, and have knowledge of the Local Plan process and competent IT skills. The team is located in South Holland District Council's offices but the successful candidates will need to work closely with Boston colleagues as and when appropriate, including relevant travel.

If you are looking for your next move then this is a great opportunity to take your next step at a forward-looking authority.
