Horsham District Council are looking for a Senior Electoral Services Officer to work within the Democratic Services team who will be responsible for the production of the Register of Electors and all aspects of elections.

As a Senior Electoral Services Officer you will liaise with and provide advice to the Returning Officer, elected members and political parties. Advice will be in relation to the arrangements for and administration of all elections and electoral registration.  You will also liaise and comply with all requirements of the Electoral Commission.

To succeed as a Senior Electoral Services Officer you will have significant experience of working in electoral registration and the administration of elections and up to date knowledge of relevant legislation.  You will also preferably be a member of the Association of Electoral Administrators and hold a relevant professional qualification.

You should have experience of staff management, budgetary control and the use of electoral registration and elections management systems (e.g. Xpress).

You will need good IT and administration experience, be able to communicate effectively with a range of people, be able to work to deadlines and the ability to respond successfully to change.

During election periods you will be required to work additional hours, outside normal office hours.
