As Strategy, Policy & Communications Manager, you will ensure Maldon Council is recognised by customers as understanding their needs and engaging with them to clearly define the direction of the organisation. That means providing clear, meaningful and deliverable strategies that are communicated effectively to key stakeholders. In particular you will:
- Own the annual strategic cycle
- Deliver the Local Plan as a core component of strategy, developing a framework for the use of land in Maldon District that delivers against the Corporate Plan
- Ensure a policy framework exists to underpin strategy and encourage monitoring and evaluation
- Prioritise the needs of the District, harnessing succinct communications to internal and external customers through the most effective channel
- Be accountable for the council’s strategic partnerships to enable joined up deliver against our priorities
We would expect you to bring extensive working knowledge and experience of at least two of the following: Strategic Business Planning, Performance & Programme Management, Communications, Engagement & Marketing. This would ideally be enhanced with relevant business or management qualifications. As a leader, you will demonstrate the ability to provide direction, shaping a vision and environment that enables, inspires and influences others, providing them with a clear sense of direction and purpose. You will bring a track record of working collaboratively across organisations and partnerships, as well as an appetite and instinct for enabling and delivering change. Your style will encourage and support others to perform effectively and achieve success.
