Following a restructure and expansion of the Council's Strategic Housing Service, we are looking to recruit Housing Solutions Officers who will be responsible for preventing homelessness and making decisions as to the Council's legal duties to those who are at risk of homelessness.
Applicants should have excellent working knowledge of the Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act as well as the requirements of the Code of Guidance and relevant case law.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday and occasional out-of-hours working may be required. Based in the Council Offices, the role also requires the ability to travel to attend meetings, home visits and other duties as required.
Chelmsford City Council is committed to safeguarding vulnerable groups and expects all employees to share this commitment and have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services. The Council's Safer Recruitment process contains pre-employment vetting which includes safeguarding training, obtaining references and ensuring compliance with the Disclosure and Barring Service process.
