Job Details
Following a restructure and expansion of the Council's Strategic Housing Service, we are looking to recruit Housing Solutions Officers who will be responsible for preventing homelessness and making decisions as to the Council's legal duties to those who are at risk of homelessness.
Applicants should have excellent working knowledge of the Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act as well as the requirements of the Code of Guidance and relevant case law.
The role will require working with households who are at risk of homelessness, helping them through the development of Personal Housing Plans to prevent homelessness wherever possible, explain and promote housing options, and making decisions in accordance with the relevant legislation.
You will be required to work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday and occasional out-of-hours working may be required. Based in the Council Offices, the role also requires the ability to travel to attend meetings, home visits and other duties as required.
