Early Years Sufficiency and Planning Officer

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

We have an excellent opportunity to become part of the Early Help Service that supports the delivery of the 2, 3 and 4 year entitlements. In this role you will ensure families are aware of the free entitlements and support them to access childcare that meets their needs.

You will work with the Sufficiency and Planning lead to ensure the local authority meets its sufficiency duty and will also work closely with childcare providers in the borough to meet sufficiency needs.

The Person

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and influencing skills as well as being able to prioritise and balance a demanding workload.

Ideally you will be a self-motivated team player and an innovative thinker, helping the team reach out to parents across the borough providing them with information and assisting them with accessing their free entitlements.

As the post holder you should also possess good IT skills, including use of databases, spreadsheets and general office software, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Closing Date: 29 January 2019 (23:00)
