Director of Development and Environment

Permanent, full time • Salary circa £125,000 p.a.

North Somerset Council is a top performing unitary authority with a reputation for innovation and efficiency. North Somerset is part of the West of England Housing Deal and is pursuing a number of strategic developments, including two garden villages.

We are committed to revitalising, regenerating and enhancing the economic vitality of our area and are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to maintain momentum on delivery of our regeneration and placemaking aspirations.

To be successful you will need imagination and flair to bring new ideas as well as the skills, experience and determination to both lead on running effective front line services and a proven track record to drive forward a series of major projects and commercial opportunities. You will also have experience of working at a senior level in a large multi-disciplinary organisation as well as being confident in managing complex and challenging issues and a range of high profile public facing services.

You will bring a wealth of relevant experience and skills and a real commitment and motivation for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
