Take and innovative shared services organisation to the next level

About One Source

In 2014, two London borough councils – Newham and Havering – came together to create oneSource: an innovative shared services organisation. Joined by Bexley in 2016, oneSource now includes around 1,000 staff who remain employed by their ‘home’ councils. Cited as a leading example of shared services on a significant scale, we now need an inspirational leader to make this important partnership even more effective.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to build on the success of a high-performing, multi-authority shared services organisation. As Executive Director, your task will be to develop excellent services that help each council to achieve its own individual goals and transformation. That means improving operational efficiency and ensuring that services take a joined-up approach. Where possible, you’ll reduce costs by sharing expertise and assets, and through common procurement strategies. You’ll also establish best practice service delivery and improve the customer experience.

All of this calls for cultural change, commercial thinking and skilled strategic leadership. As a senior professional, you’ll be ready to bring all three. You’ll have experience of delivering and transforming a range of strategic and back office functions, plus exceptional drive and resilience. With the expertise to manage people, major services and complex projects and programmes, you’ll be able to set strategic direction and deliver future-defining change. We’re looking for an influential leader who will build relationships with all our partners, so you’ll need to be articulate and be able to inspire confidence.

oneSource has a critical role to play in a tough financial climate. Can you ensure we become an even better partner?
