FWD is a specialist substance misuse service for young people living in Camden aged up to 25 and is part of Camden’s Youth Early Help Service. Our service has grown significantly over the last few years and is well recognised for our effective and innovative approaches to working with young people.
The Role
We are looking for a diligent, competent and highly motivated Advanced Practitioner to join the team who is keen to progress and share our values of working as one team and finding better and more innovative ways of doing things.
Within this challenging role, you will manage a caseload of complex young people affected by substance use and engage with them and their families to assess, develop and deliver interventions and activities that support recovery and resilience. The successful candidate will be dealing with complex issues that may arise as a result of concurrent issues such as mental health concerns and involvement with criminal justice in a multi-disciplinary team.
The successful candidate would also be expected to offer support and guidance to other substance misuse case managers as well as the wider team within the Integrated Youth Support Service to improve service provision.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
To be considered for the post it is essential that you are educated to degree level in either Social Work, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Counselling or any other relevant mental health qualification alongside a substance misuse qualification. You will be a pro-active analytical thinker with experience of working in an integrated setting and possess the ability to provide clinical support and advice to the FWD and wider teams. You will have substantial post qualification experience of working in substance misuse field, with in-depth knowledge and understanding including the factors influencing substance misuse. You will have demonstrable experience of delivering outcome and evidence based intervention and treatment services to a high standard in line with local and national quality assurance standards. You will have an excellent working knowledge of the National Drug Treatment Service (NDTMS) requirements, including reporting requirements to meet the public health agenda and an understanding of the approaches to young people’s development; the purpose and methods of social and informal education within the context of health.
