Job Details

Following a restructure of the Council's Strategic Housing Service we are looking to recruit a Business and Performance Manager to plan, lead, manage and implement policy, process, procedure and service standards for the Council's Strategic Housing Service, managing a team that will also be responsible for the development and implementation of an overarching Housing Strategy for the Council.

Applicants will need to demonstrate a wide range of experience and knowledge of both housing management and strategic housing issues, together with an ability to lead and manage staff working in a Housing Authority or Association.

The role requires skills and expertise in housing management finance, project planning, performance management and service planning, representing the Housing Service both internally and externally, working effectively with other staff, services and organisations to set and achieve the vision for the Council's Strategic Housing Service.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday but may be required to work outside of these hours on some occasions. You will normally be based at the Civic Centre, Chelmsford, but may be required to work from any other location within the City should circumstances make it necessary.

Chelmsford City Council is committed to safeguarding vulnerable groups and expects all employees to share this commitment, and have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services.
