Camden Accessible Travel Solutions is located at the Councils York Way depot and is responsible for procuring Camden’s fleet of vehicles for all of its services. It also operates minibus, bus and coach services for special educational needs children and transport to and from day centres for older and disabled people. The Services additional functions includes administering accessible transport schemes such as the Freedom Pass, Taxicard and Blue Badges schemes for eligible people, as well as bespoke schemes such as PlusBus and the award winning ScootAbility scheme.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business & Contracts Manager to join this multi-agency team. The successful candidate will play a major role in managing the Services’ budgets including reporting to senior managers on financial performance, budget setting and advising on financial processes and procedures within the Council’s policies and standing orders. You will also be responsible for advising and supporting colleagues with regards to their financial roles and responsibilities. In addition the post holder will be responsible for managing the Services’ contracts including working with the Council’s central procurement team with respect to service procurement and contract drafting.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

You will have extensive experience of both contract and budget management preferably with local authority experience though this is not essential. Under the guidance of the Customer and Business Improvement Manager you will work to ensure the effective delivery and management of contracts, and management of the Service budgets. The Council is looking for an enthusiastic, confident, adaptable and articulate individual with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team. You will have CIPS certification or a relevant accountancy qualification, or high level experience of a similar role or function.
