Job Details

Camden Accessible Travel Solutions is located at the Councils York Way depot and is responsible for procuring Camden’s fleet of vehicles for all its services. It also operates minibus, bus and coach services for special educational needs children and transport to and from day centres for older and disabled people. The services additional functions includes administering accessible transport schemes such as the Freedom Pass, Taxicard and the Blue Badge schemes for eligible people, as well as bespoke schemes such as PlusBus and the award winning ScootAbility scheme.

The successful candidate will play a supporting role in managing the Services’ budgets including preparing reports for senior colleagues on financial performance, and assisting with financial processes and procedures within the Council’s policies and standing orders. He or she will also be responsible for advising and supporting colleagues with regard to their financial roles and responsibilities. In addition, the post holder will play a supporting role in administering the Services’ contracts including working with the Council’s central procurement team with respect to the procurement of services.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

To be considered for this vacancy it is essential that you hold a relevant Accountancy qualification or equivalent experience in a similar post. The ideal candidate will have significant experience of both contract and budget management preferably with local authority experience though this is not essential. Under the guidance of the Business and Contracts Manager you will assist with the effective delivery and management of contracts, and Service budgets. The Council is looking for an enthusiastic, confident, adaptable and articulate individual with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team. A relevant accountancy qualification would be an advantage, or experience of a similar role or function.
