About the job:

Salary: £30,756 - £33,136 pro-rata per annum
Location: Based at LCC Highways Depot, 90 Leycroft Road, Leicester, LE4 1BZ
Fixed Term for 12 months to cover workload
Part-Time, 24hrs/wk (£19,949 - £21,493 per annum) – working pattern can be discussed at interview

Working in the Highways Maintenance Group, you will be responsible for the measurement, valuation, costing and invoicing of all operational highway maintenance activities. You will develop tender and contract documents, for the procurement of goods, services and works to support the delivery of highway maintenance operations. You will also deliver monitoring and performance related studies to inform and advise the Highways management team.

Requirements of the post include:

-Significant relevant experience in the measurement and valuation of highways and civil engineering works and carrying out site measures;
-Significant experience in the drafting of contract documents and tendering of highways/construction works;
-Experience of costing/rate setting and job cost analysis and invoicing of works;
-Knowledge of legislative and contractual requirements relating to construction estimating and costing;
- Able to supervise, direct, mentor and motivate staff;
-Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to produce reports/papers to inform/recommend and advise higher management;
-Self-motivated, able to work with minimum supervision and prioritise a demanding workload.
