Job Details
Hylands Estate is a Grade II* listed property and modern Grand Pavilion set in 574 acres of landscaped parkland just outside Chelmsford. The House & Grand Pavilion hosts weddings, corporate functions, events and private celebrations throughout the year as well as being part of the Hylands visitor attraction for the general public. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Duty Manager on a casual zero hour contract basis with experience of managing a large busy events venue.
The ideal candidate for this position must have previous experience in a similar, be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of customer service. You must work to high standards at all times and be detail-orientated with the ability to organise and plan ahead. You should also have the ability to lead, multi-task, and make sound decisions in fast-paced environment.
You will manage the day to day running of activities at Hylands House & Grand Pavilion, motivating and co-ordinating front line staff and contractors to provide an excellent service to visitors, and ensuring the safety of the building and the people in it. Duties will include locking and unlocking the facility, planning and directing the work of a team of Front of House Assistants, setting up the house for activities, serving refreshments, cleaning, completing and maintaining accurate records, cash handling, managing the licensed bars during functions, and dealing with customer enquiries and complaints.
You will be required to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You will be part of a robust team that shares the workload.
You will need to hold a full driver’s licence and have access to your own transport.
