The Role

Bishop Ridley is a successful and popular primary school. We live our school life in line with our core Christian values of Trust, Forgiveness, Thankfulness, Compassion, Friendship and Humility. We have close ties with Bishop Ridley Church on The Green and welcome children of all faiths and of none. Our children are our biggest asset. Every member of the school shares in our determination to help every child achieve their full potential. Pupils and staff have high expectations and the school has a calm learning environment.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic After School Club Leader.  You will be responsible for the overall running of the session, ensuring that all staff are deployed effectively and have a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities throughout the session.  You will ensure the delivery of safe, quality childcare and appropriate age-related play opportunities for children that attend the sessions.  You will take responsibility for safeguarding the children and liaising with parents and carers.  Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene for Catering Certificate would be an advantage.

You will be required to work Monday – Friday during term time 3.20 pm to 6.00 pm. There may be rare instances where a child is not collected from the club.  You would need to ensure that they were safely collected.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, well-organised, nurturing, hardworking and be committed to providing a safe and stimulating environment to engage children in purposeful play.

Please complete the attached application form, which should be delivered to the school, or emailed to admin@bishop-ridley.bexley.sch.uk.  The closing date for applications will be 9.00 am on Monday 25 March 2019. Successful candidates will be contacted shortly after for interview. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory DBS clearance and other employment checks.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.

The school is committed to equality and diversity in employment practice and service delivery.
