The Role

Lying at the heart of Surrey, mid-way between London and the South Coast, Mole Valley is an attractive, predominantly rural district which is widely recognised as a prime business location. It includes the market towns of Dorking and Leatherhead and is a place where outstanding natural beauty, enterprise and opportunity combine to create a great place to live, work and enjoy.

Mole Valley District Council is a dynamic and progressive local authority which delivers a wide range of high quality, customer focused services. It has big ambitions for the future as outlined in its new Council Strategy which next year will see us continue with our proposals to “Transform Leatherhead”, launch a new Enforcement service and drive forward a number of exciting environmental projects.

Working in a friendly, lively environment we are looking for an exceptional leader to become an integral part of our Strategic Leadership Team and continue to achieve improvements right across the Council. Having responsibility for overseeing the delivery of a portfolio of services you will work with the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and other Executive Heads to maintain and build on existing relationships with elected members, staff and partners to ensure that all services, including those for which you are responsible, help enable the delivery of our long term vision for the district.

As sponsor for a number of high profile projects, including the role out of our new Customer Relationship Management System, you will work at the most senior level to deliver significant change across the organisation to the way we serve our customers. You will also lead on a range of cross cutting strategies, including those which support our rural communities, while ensuring that robust approaches are in place regarding information management and investigative practices.  

This role provides an ideal opportunity for the right person to gain very broad experience, at board level, as part of a team where your development will be encouraged and a flexible approach to working is supported.
