Job Details

The Role

As the SEN Finance Assistant you will support the finance services of the SEN Statutory Assessment Team and will support SEN Finance Officer with enquiries and requisitions, ensuring the financial control of this portfolio are robust.

This will include invoice transaction and purchase order management, record keeping, creating annual statements and relevant documentation, responsibility for producing termly statements for all borough schools and assisting with management information requirements.  You will be the main point of contact for all initial enquiries from schools related to high needs top up funding and will liaise with schools and other education settings as and when required. 

You will need to be educated to A level standard or hold a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification and have an understanding of the legislation and processes around SEN finance.  Good interpersonal skills, the ability to show attention to detail and be able to challenge discrepancies are essential.  You will be required to work towards relevant financial professional accredited qualifications.

You will have good customer services and interpersonal skills, ensuring the LA provides consistent and pro-active communication with education settings
