At Kingston, we are passionate about our Royal Borough and want to be known as a Council that will be financially and environmentally sustainable, working transparently and collectively in the best interests of Kingston’s residents, partners and businesses. This is a new era for the Council, with a new Chief Executive, Liberal Democrat administration and Corporate Plan ‘Making Kingston Better, Together’.
With high quality legal services delivered by a Shared Service with neighbouring boroughs, we are seeking an experienced local government officer to take on the monitoring officer responsibilities for Kingston and client the legal shared service arrangement. We are looking for strong leadership qualities to embed our new constitution and ensure delivery is fit for the 21st century. As the Council’s Monitoring Officer, you will also have a direct relationship with elected members and sit on the Strategic Leadership Team. Your leadership, integrity and strong track record in corporate governance will support the whole Council to innovate and deliver high quality services for our residents.
To be successful in this post, you will need to have a strong strategic grasp of leading within a complex organisation and a strong ambition to deliver services differently by putting residents at the heart of decision making. Whoever is appointed to this role will help establish our profile as a Council with exceptional standards of governance to ensure our communities receive consistently high-quality services.
